I drove into town today and got a quote from a muffler shop to have them remove my mufflers and replace it with the same size tubing. He quoted me $65.00 to $80.00 for them to cut out my mufflers bend the tubes and weld the tubing in. Does this seem like a fair price for a cheap loud exhaust?

it will be way too loud and sound extremely untuned...don't do it. you won't notice any power gains (a loss if anything) and it will sound like crap...unbolt your mufflers...you'll see what i'm talking about.

 

i agree you should just run striaght pipes to the mufflers an that will sound a lot better then what you are going to do

 

I can't unbolt my mufflers they are welded in. He quoted me 300 dollars for straight pipes. I still need to get tires too which are going to run me another $400.00. Well I guess we'll see what they sound like if I don't like them I'll get some SLP loudmouths or somethin.

 

My large engine's class teacher has the his cats on his 1971 chevy, it's got a 350 and he has no mufflers, it sounds awesome.

 

redneck!!!!!!!!!!!!! straight pipes refer to no mufflers.......what you doing is straight pipes which are gay, horrible sounding, loss of hp the list can go on. save up cheap *** and go buy a real exhaust anything less then this is junk. if you dont believe it you dont know **** about cars.
