and what are symptoms of hydrolocking?
your car doesnt move

in december i hit a huge puddle with my cai on (i switched to just a k+n drop in with the boot off right after this happened). stalled out my car, it wouldnt stay running unless i had the gas pedal pressed, etc... i cleaned and dried the maf out the next day, threw the stock intake back on with a k+n, and it fired right up just fine. even a little bit of water hitting the filter can work its way up and throw your maf readings off.

i would take out your maf, clean it, find a way to block the water, and see how it goes.

The only symptom of hydrolocking is the engine not turning over. At the boat rental I work at whenever a jetski fills with water we change the air filter pull out the sparkplugs change the oil and then turn it over a few times with no plugs in it so the remaining water shoots out. Works everytime saved my *** once. (I put too much seafoam.) Spray some electronic parts cleaner on the metal contacts for the spark plug wires they get dirty.
