Got quoted at discount tire for pricing

Sumitomo 275/40ZR17------119.85
Sumitomo 315/35ZR17------138.00
After about thirty seconds of searching i found them for cheaper on tirerack, and im sure if i look some more there is a chance that i can find them even cheaper than that, however i have a couple questions beforehand.

First, wtf is Sumitomo? i mean, i have heard of it before, but have heard nothing about them.
Are they good tires? Reliable? Safe? how about tread wear and grip?
if ANYONE has any experiance, or reliable information on them please let me know.

Secondly, if anyone has experiance with discount tire.. do they price match? the difference in 4 tires alone between there and tirerack was about 60 bucks..

and finially, (sorry so much in one post) i need several suggestions for 17x10.5 and 17x9 wheels.. definately chrome, something that might be unique, i like the 03 Cobras and Bullits,
any other suggestions?

 

I dont know if they make different classes of tire for different performance levels but, I had a set on my 96GT and they griped like crazy and wore out fast. They had good tread wear and, I wouldnt worry about safty or reliability. I had a good experience with mine.

Well, they make pretty good carbide/ceramic.. etc cutting tools. I use them quite often at work if that helps at all.

 

I have them on my car now, although they are half slicks. They are the no-name or japanese name of Dunlop. I have the HTR+ and they are decent. The only complaint that I had was that the sidewalls weren't too stiff...there was a little slosh in the steering. They also didn't wear as good as my BFG's.
