How long thecar will last is really more dependent on how well you take care of it. Keep up with the oil changes and other maintenance and you will probably see 200k without a problem, if you keep it that long. Cars these days are built to a higher quality than back in the day. In the 50-70s, 100,000 miles was a lot for those engines but today 200k is not uncommon with proper maintenance as stated above.

a lot of times you can get more life out of those 6 cylinder ones cause they aren't beat on as much. provided they aren't beat on.
