i have a 1993 lx and i wanted to drop a 5.0 or a 351 in it. theres someone near me selling a 351 from a 1990 f-150 with its transmission and wiring harness. could i buy that and make it fit in my mustang? will the transmission be the right one? im not sure which tranny that year of truck had but could i use that same computer too? thanks for the responses. i know ill need to change the rear to an 8.8 and get better front brakes, but what else and i looking at that ill deffinitel need? im thinking if i could put the 351 in it i would probably build it up, maybe bore and stroke it, but at the moment completely stock could it work?

depending on your skills it might be essier to do a carb setup. due to less wires to deal with. but a 351w would be the better routeover the 5.0.

thats true and thats what a friend of mine suggested. but what would the computer switch entail?

youd have to get an intake and carb and i think thats it. just double check the intake widths between the older and new 351w because i think they are different widths but i could be wrong.

i wouldn't want an ecm from and f150 controlling the engine in my mustang, unless of course it's a lightning.

for what it is carb it, ftw. if you are stuck on injection, go with an aftermarket kit like holley projection.

okay that sounds good. someone told me a good carb setup is a 4bb carb from jeg, they sell a kit. ill have to look up on it but im not really savvy on swapping engines thats why i thought i could come here for some advice.
