I have a a/c problem! lol

when i turn it on in the car, the pulley shows that it is spinning by the compressor but warm air is still being blown out of the vents. i just converted from r12-r134a and still..

any suggestions? i bought a used compressor and clutch from a dealer so we'll see if that works. is there anyway i can check what is faulty?

I would check to make sure there are no hose leaks or holes punctured in the compressor. You may also want to walk through your conversion and make sure everything is hooked up properly. Sometimes another set of eyes helps, especially when you've been working on it for as long as it sounds you have.

 

i want to try and change the ac relay but i cant seem to find it.... any help? anyone?

 

What kind of car do you have and what size engine?

 

Have you done any preventive maint. yet: Clean off any debris from outside of unit that could be blocking airflow. Replace air filter, and clean coils.

If your air filter is covered with ice, that indicates a large freon leak, and you need to fix it right away.

You probably need a freon recharge anyway, if the air itself isn't as cool as in prior years. That would indicate a smaller freon leak, which they should find as well.

You should replace all your hoses, and check all the connections.

r134a has a smaller structure than r12. So the r134a might be seeping out of places the r12 was not.

And r134 is more dependent on the amount you put into the system so you should recheck the amount that is in it.
