Default Cracked Cyl. head

Can a cracked cylinder head be repaired? or does that just make it a big piece of scrap metal?

you can re weld a cracked head...(theirs a different name for it i just cant think of it.) back in my honda days i had a crx that cracked a head and a repair shop fixed it.

it depends on how common that head is.. if you can get a new one/used one for cheap then do it, it isn't really a cheap fix.. even if the crack is welded, there is still gonna be at least one weak spot on the head, whereas if you got a new one, it should work fine

its actually a head for a 96 jeep 4.0l i was just curious. new ones costs 300+
