Default Button behind driver side taillight?

Is there supposed to be a big red button in a black housing mounted behind the driver side taillight, in between the light housing and the trunk carpet or liner whatever you want to call it. It looks like it could be factory, it's very professional looking. I'll take pictures and post them up if it's not supposed to be there. It's a 2000 V6 Vert, I bought it used with a viper alarm so I was thinking valet switch but aren't those usually hidden in the dash or something up front...not tucked away behind carpet in the trunk?

Possibly the inertia switch for the fuel system when involved in a collision? The red button being the reset button should it accidentally trigger and need to be reset??

check your owners manual for the location of the fuel pump reset switch. a description of it's function and location is on page 118. no manual? you can order a replacement from your local dealer.......

It's your Inertia Switch.
In the event of an accident the switch will engage and disable your Fuel Pump to decrease the chance of your car catching on fire.
If the switch is UP, you can pres it DOWN to Re-Engage the Fuel Pump to start your car.
