sorry, things got off topic, but the guy earlier talking about the foil stuff. yes that is much better than the factory one. it holds in heat much better and stays cleaner.

 

I've had the hood insulation on some of my cars and off others. It doesn't do much except keep the engine heat from cooking the paint on your hood. Since the GT hood is fiberglass anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about it but your paint WILL fade from the heat eventually.
