Default Wheel Spacers

OK ive come again to be educated. PLease post personal exp or knowledge and not myth....

this is the thing. IM BROKE and for now, i do not plan on getting wider sets of tires because i need more stuff done to the car so any $$$ that comes in, i plan on using for other mods, BUT, i LOVE the wide AGGRESSIVE look of a stang with a wider backend frame.

in general im looking into spacers (not sure i wanna go with this but looking into it) for my car to give it that aggressive power look and not the top heavy wimpy-ish back end look that stock stangs have. like the wheels are hiding behind the tail sorta look lol...anyways

now ive been looking around, and its like everyone's torn about the issue...i cant make heads or tails between fact and myth.

ive heard that because of the wider outset of the tires after the spacers, that the car handles better....um...etc....my car could use better rear end handling. Ive also heard that adding spacers makes understeer worse...that adding spacers adds pressure to important parts of the tire mounts and things can break off...for the most part, ill be street driving and agressive driving when no ones around. i just dont want to power through a turn and one of these things fall off and me BARRELING into a wall...

on the opposite end, ive also heard that ALOt of ppl use em and have no problems...some also have used on the track etc which implies that its ok to use....

i want to hear your FACTS on this seeing as how itll help me determine how to roll. but opinions are fine aswell...please educate sir somdow.

the other ? i have is, when adding the spacers, can i add them to the back end set or does it have to be all 4 tires for stability?

Default RE: Wheel Spacers

Spacers on the REAR wheels can work out OK, I would NOT recommend using them on the front, as I've heard a lot of people complaining about weird handling with spacers on the front wheels

i've got them on my 88 monte ss because my tires needed clearance i couldn't tell a difference on it. they will how ever cause your wheel bearings to wear a little more but as long as you don't get crazy with the size of the spacers you should be fine. i have a set of 15x8 draglites on the back of my stang with very little back spacing and it does look sharp specially with the skinny 15x5's on the front

i've got 1 inch spacers on the back of my car. i've had 'em on for about a year and a half now and no problems so far. i even had 'em on at the dragstrip once.
