What exactly do new gears do? how are they helpfull? also what is the best size? is it a good mod? i see that most ppl here have it listed. sry im so ignorant about this ****, only 16 haha.

 

Gears will have the biggest impact on your vehicles performance besides a forced induction system. The best way to look at is they basically give the motor leverage. Your able to get into the powerband faster because it lowers the top speed of the vehicle in favor of acceleration. I like 3.73's but, a lot of people will tell you to go with a higher 4.10. At WOT I can spin the tires through 1st, 2nd, and when I get a good shift in I can chirp 3rd. I cant imagine having 4.10's. My old boss has a Vortech fed Cobra. He has 4.10's and cant even nail it in 3rd without his NITTOS letting go. If you plan on going to the track a lot and running some slicks 4.10's would be beneficial. It all depends on what you want.

 

they are a torque magnifier. makes it easier for the engine to spin the tires. will also get you into the high rpms faster which is where the most power is. 94cbra is right, there is no single mod that will make as much of a difference as gears will other then forced induction or n20

with my 3.73's in i cant even take off from a stop hard anymore. last time i tried i hit the gas hard, the engine reved to 5000 and i moved forward about 5 feet with the tires spinning the whole time. good think i got myself a pair of slicks in my garage waiting for their maiden trip down the track
