I m wanting to paint my inside plastic parts anything i can do
the thing is i don t want to get the basic spray paint and look cheap ,what paint can i get form home depot or advance auto pats to do that?
also do i need to sand and prime first?

the 2nd thing is i want to paint the piece where the license plate is ,what should i get for paint and i have to sand it or prime it?

anyone has done this or have knowledge about paints?

with painting its always a good idea to sand and prime before painting as far as paint choices I like and have had a lot of success the duplicolor line avaliable at most auto parts stores

I just finished painting some of the interior trim pieces in my ride. I have the dark charcoal interior and decided to paint the door inserts, heater/radio/shifter trim, and the vents a light grey.

It's very easy to do. The key is to make sure you have a clean surface. A good wax and grease remover can be used to accomplish this. I've also had luck with dish soap, followed by a very good rinsing with clean water a few times, and ending with rubbing alcohol.

Once you have that done, the hard part is over. I used some plastic primer on the pieces I did. As Voodoo2three mentioned, the duplicolor paint works very well. It's what I used (gm grey in particular). The trick (if you want to call it that) is to use very light coats over multiple passes. The desire to lay it down thick will probably be there, but do light passes and you won't be disappointed. I topped everything off with a clearcoat for extra protection.

I haven't painted the license paint area so I can't offer any advice there, but I hope the above helps you.
