Default a/c compressor

okay, just confirming. my compressor doesnt spin, so i jumped the low pressure switch. still nothing. am i understanding right, that the compressor will only turn while being jumped if there is enough pressure in it? so could that be the reason mine is not turning? not enough R134A? the fuse is good. also, i've never heard of anyone jumping the high pressure switch, will this do no good? anyway to diagnose clutch or even a complete lock up?

Here's a link that might help you out.

I would think the compressor would turn if there is electrical power to the clutch regardless of the state of charge of the A/C system.
I had a line come disconnected while decorating the street in front of my house one day and I just reconnected the line and hooked up a can of R 134-A.I used the first can and the compressor came on and I refilled the system normally.
One thing you DO want to watch out for if you do the work yourself is the amount of lubricant you put into the system.Too much and the efficiency is reduced and the compressor will run continuously instead of cycling on and off.I might have done this myself but I didn't need the A/C very much this year so I didn't really check it out,,,yet.
