08 Bullit or 05 GTO

well put!!!! i have been a gm guy for a very long time. since i do own a 04. and they did make a few 03's i seen one in the used cars on our gm lot not to long ago. had a 03 serial #. i checked it out. now back to the cars. both are fast and each can get you into trouble stock. i put 3 mods on my 04 gto and produced nearly a 100 hp. cam package, longtube headers, and exhaust. the car already had the k@n cai when i bought it. i have drove many gt's, and not a one put me back in the seat like my gto does now and when it was stock. most of the people on here that put it down have never drove one. and it is a appeal car. like mustangs absolutely do not appeal to me. i personally think they are ugly cars. i am not saying this to start a fight. just saying what i think just like you guy's. and stock for stock a gt is a close runner to the 04 gto. just yesterday at the last track event in ardmore ok, there was a 08 gt ran a best time of 14.2 and as slow as 14.8. it was a auto and the person driveing was a police officer. when my 04 was new with 500 mi on it and the first time out i put down a 14.2, and the quickest was 13.8. and also the gto looks like the 68 gto. that was what they were shooting for. i am just like anthony k. i like all fast cars, wheather it is a ford or a dodge or bmw and so on. my best friend just got his gt back up and running. he put in a fully fordged 4.6 with a big intake a 200 wet shot, a procharger. without the shot it ran 11.5 yesterday at the track on street tires. he had it dynoed and it pulled 550 rwhp without the juice. now this is a crate engine special built for him and his specs. now this is one bad gt. and i do like his car. but he has told me that my car is faster than his was with a cam and supporting mods with the procharger. but he blew it up trying to catch me up top. oh yea he also has a hpp fully forged engine minus the heads for sale. he will sale the heads seperate. this engine is still in the crate and never been installed, for 4500$. just thought i would throw that in there for someone who would like to have a very big monster built engine. he has spent about 30.000$ between the two engine's. call me for info. and i no this is not the for sale site but oh well. 580-221-0394 kerry, gt's are great cars and so are the gto's.

08 bullitt or 05 GTO?
I'd go for the GTO, the bullit is a ripoff IMO
but in hindsight if I had to do it all over again for a go fast car I'd get a base GT and put money into it... alot more dragstrip potential from the GT than the GTO... for the bullitt you are spending about 8K for a name and mods that would cost you 1-2K at the most on a GT
although I did buy the GTO for a daily driver and it is far more comfortable to live with than my mustang was... rides better than my lincoln, has a bigger backseat than my lincoln
don't get me wrong the goat pulls hard... but when it comes to the dragstrip and modding the GT is cheaper AND more bang for buck
I will give you guys one example of why the GTO is not a dragstrip favorite...
to get ANY decently sized tire in the back with any amount of grip there will be alot of grinding and rolling ahead of you... not only that but once you do start putting your power to the ground now you have to shell out even more money for halfshafts that aren't made of glass
it takes a small fortune to make the GTO plant it's power and make use of it's LS2... I was up for the challenge so I bought one, are you?
I do love making this car go sideways though lol, it really is the easiest factory car to drift with... it just locks into place once your oversteer hits the right position and your car just sails like it's in slow motion making an easy to control cool looking display

Slower? I don't really see that. Even with the 6.0L the GTO is still 3900+lbs. From a standing start the Bullitt will not be any slower with a guy that knows how to drive his Bullitt. The GTO will pick up speed quicker once you start moving past 60, but I don't see the Bullitt losing on a 0-60 run.
my GTO weighed in at 3,931 with me in it... and two full packs of bottled water in the trunk (lol, hey it's weight)
altogether if you do the math (me being 175lbs and the water being about 40-50lbs) my GTO weighs roughly 3,700lbs just sitting there... granted my spare was gone, but I think that counters the water lol
3,900+lbs? who do you think makes the GTO? dodge?
lolz
anyways, the above is my non biased report... and in owning a GTO I would say if you are looking for cheap go fast power from a stop in a straight line I would say to go for a base model GT and skip the bullitt... only if you plan on modding though
if you plan on being stock and want a smooth ride with a BMW like comfort level and a nice stock punch I would tell you to get a GTO
