Not a chance that the V8 at that power level is the same cost. Six of everything instead of 8 in the bottom end... and the V8 would also require aftermarket crank and block - which a V6 uses the stock Ford parts for. And look at the numbers. The V6 cars where using similar PSI levels and making the same (if not more) power. Numbers don't lie (in this case).
The mod block is good to go for anything you want to throw at it for the most part, yeah there may be 1000-2000 dollar difference thats true - but most likely the difference in what ever labor and parts you pay from different locations will make up that difference - I mean in this game even a $3k in the long run
