it would likely be a burned out bulb somewhere. run through all the checks with someone outside the car. brakes, signals, headlights, everything......something will be burned out somewhere. If not, then start looking at the connections.

I beg to differ but a bulb out is one cause of the light on the other end of the car to come on but not blink. I've been there with that.

On my 73 Mach I had 1 of 2 bulbs out in my right tail light assmebly go out and that caused the right front to stay on and not blink. Replaced the rear bulb & problem solved.

Maybe different years act differently by I speak from experience with mine. I think it has to do with the way the harness is wired during the different model years. Maybe yours blinking fast is getting the current intended for the bad bulb causing the flasher to work faster. On mine it looked like the circuit is open not allowing the flasher to blink.

I have had it different for everything. My crown vic, the light stayed solid. My taurus the light blinks very quickly. Most likely just a bulb, but could also be the Multi-function switch.

Yep, I agree it's most likely a bulb. If it's not though, a test light is invaluable in determining what the problem is whether it's a multi switch, dirty socket, or ground problem. Replacing parts that aren't bad gets expensive.

You could be on to something there. It may be the blinker fluid afterall. Maybe bad muffler bearings caused the muffler to heat up which in turn caused the blinker fluid to heat up and boil the blinker fluid out.

Maybe you have some extra there you could send?
There was actully a part called a muffler bearing on an old chevy truck. It wasn't really a ball bearing type mechanism, it was just a single ball,
