Default Shaker 500 install

Does anyone have a writeup or know of an installation guide on how to take out my old unit and install a Shaker 500? I have no idea how to go about this and I've got a Shaker 500 in the mail... All of my CD's are scratched to heck so I figured its about time I upgrade a Shaker so I dont have to have them all in my armrest.

Also, is there any possible way I can upgrade my doors to have those extra speakers under my factory ones, or would it cost to much $$$$$$$?

I just did this on my wife's pony. I upgraded her single disc head to the shaker 500 head that i pulled from my GT. Only problem is there is a 3rd plug-in jack on the 500 that is not on the single disc unit. The unit plays ok with the 2 plugs into the shaker head but has very little bass response. So, my thought is that the third plug on the deck is what powers the door subs on the cars with a factory shaker setup. So, the sound is pretty flat. My local radio shop said Pioneer makes shallow 8" subs that should fit the doors. They would have to be the shallow type as the door window is right behind that area when it is down. Maybe some other companies make them also. I am searching as I post here to see if an aftermarket company makes an adapter for that third plug on the back of the shaker head. Any way it's not a hard install. I'm sure there are threads in here about changing the radio, so I'm not gonna re-post the procedure as I don't have a lot of time. good luck!

OK, parts you will need for sub woofers. The factory shaker 500 head unit does not have sub-woofer amps. It only outputs line level signals from the third 8 pin connector. You will need a separate sub amplifier and new sub woofers installed to utilize this feature. Metra makes the factory harness connectors found here:
http://www.installer.com/item/displa...p?it=71-5520-1
it comes with all 3 connectors. the 8 pin connector outputs the sub woofer line level on pin1+ pin2- pin 3shield these input to a sub amplifier which then feeds the speakers.
It's gonna take some work but it surely can be done. On my wife's car the bass level sucks, so I'll probably be doing this soon.

Yikes.... I didn't know my bass levels would suck now because of this... I dont want that to happen. There is no other way I can have this + have the bass I have now without getting subs?

I bought the shaker only cause I wanted a CD Changer... I didn't want to loose quality. Theres no way I can hook that third one up to my current setup so it will work fine? Would a shop be able to do that?
