jump the electrical conncection that is on the compressor. 2 terminals, 1 possitive, the other well take a guess, does anybody know where the low pressure switch is for a 90 2.3L? (w auto)

 

I hate to say it but it sounds like the compressor. I got the exact same problem on one of my parents cars and i knew what it was right away. U can try the recharge kit and it might work for you but i think Advance Auto has a sale on the charging kit and compressors i cant remember if they do still have them on sale but i hope they do for ur sake I hope this helps!

 

actually one of the lines was sitting right on my mac headers! i just replaced the line and refilled with freon and it worked. thanks guys for your help.
