Default 66 mustang odometers

I am re-doing the interior of my 66 mustang and thought it would be nice to reset my odometer - I have viewed other members comments about it being a felony and all, but that is not the case on older cars whose titles (like mine) say "mileage exempt" - I have the speedometer out of the gauge cluster, and I have the odometer out of the speedometer - I can rotate the mileage indicators, but I can't seem to get the dual prong things that are between each rotating mileage wheel to line up correctly at zero - therefore I suspect that when I put the odometer back in, it will go to some random number, instead of all zeros - please help ( I am sure that I could hook up the drill and do the reverse thing, but I was looking for an easier way - if it exists) thank you to anybody who might be able to help.

It's hard to explain on a computer but, you need to spread it. Use a small pocket screwdriver and spread the number wheel from the locater. Can't remember which side of the locater you want to be on but, if you spread it a little and it don't work, try on the other side. You will feel when you are in the right spot. Don't pry too hard, it only needs to seperate a little bit.
