Default '99-'04 General Mustang Questions

so, to start out, my current car is a '91 Eagle Summit. its a piece of crap. I intend to sell it and buy a Mustang as soon as possible. due to a severely restricted budget, (and due to what kind of Mustang i want) i plan on buying a '99-'01 Mustang Convertible. (GT if i can afford it)

1. Whats better for gas millage, a GT or a standard Mustang?
2. how is gas millage affected when driving at speeds ranging from 75mph to 85mph? (for a standard Mustang and a GT)
3. Are parts for '99-'01 hard to come by and/or expensive?
4. When buying used, what is better to buy? A Mustang with 60k-80k city miles or 100k-120k Highway miles? i know the lower miles, the better but i doubt i'll have much of a choice and i heard that driving in the city produces more were-and-tear on the engine.

Thats all for now. i'll update the post if i think of anything else.
sorry if this is the wrong forum. this was the closest forum that i thought my questions would fit in.

1) The V6 will be slightly better, mine was about 2-3 mpg better, not enough to matter IMO.
2) You always use more the faster you go, its gonna be like that for every car.
3) Easy to find usually, and not usually that expensive. Depends on the part though...
4) Depends on how it was maintained. I would pick one with 150k on it if it was cared for properly, over one that was beat on constantly and only has 30k. Just have to look it over well. But yeah, city driving is harder because of all the stop and go. I would still most likely look for a lower mileage one that was cared for.

you could get a GT for that price, but it will probably have some higher miles on it. what do you plan on doing with the car? daily driver? weekend cruiser?

if you just plan on driving around and arent too concerned with speed, then a v6 should be fine for you.

Its my first car and it was a gift from my grandparents. cant argue with a free car. it only had 46k miles on it when i got it. but its still 18 years old and several things are starting to break all at once which is why im starting to look for a new car now. i'm just waiting for the transmission to die or an axle to snap so i'll have a good excuse to buy a new car.

it would be my main (and only) car so i would be driving it to school everyday and around town. my drive to school is about 52 miles round trip with 46 or 47 of those on the highway. i'd also be driving during the winter so i'd like to get a car that wont break very often. i dont mind if the car has some little things wrong with it like if it needs a new top or if theres some damage to the bumpers because those will be the first things i replace anyway.

a v6 would be a better idea probably. for that price the v6 will most likely have less miles and would probably be more reliable.
