Default stock '99-'04 octane?

First off, i did a search on the forum a quick web search but i couldn't find the answer to my question.

in a stock '99-'04 Mustang, What type of gas does it require? what i mean is, right now my car required 87 Octane. do Mustangs requires 89 or higher or does it not matter? if the GT uses something different, i would also like to know what the GT uses.

I believe the manufacturer calls for 87, except Cobra models. Some tune for higher octanes, or use it for the added security.

Doesn't matter if its stock. I buy the cheap 87 octane and never have problems.

ok, thanks for the replys. with the way its looking, im going to barely be able to afford to buy the car and the insurance. (im 18 so insurance is stupidly high) i didnt want to have to buy the more expensive octane too.
