Unhappy Need advice for major oil leak

I recently bought my new 67 mustang coupe, 6 cyl. Now the people before me put an after market chrome valve cover on it. I know their not stamped correctly. So here's my problem...I put a new gasket on it (rubber) and took it about 5 miles down the freeway. It spit out enough oil to fill the top of the engine block. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this from leaking? I am going to get a cork gasket and have ordered a stock valve cover off a 65 or 66...my second question would be will the cover I ordered fit on my car. Its a 200 I believe. Please help...she's running good, I just can't drive her until I at least get this problem fixed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
