Default Fuel line question

2000 V6

Back story:

In college, screwed around with another's chick (or atleast he thought she was his).
He sugar'ed my gas tank.
I dropped the tank, cleaned.
At some point I tore/cut one of the fuel lines, and replaced it with a fuel line from Advanced Auto.

Inspection story:
Took my mustang in for inspection, and the mechanic won't pass it due to fuel line. He says that the fuel line is for a carburetor engine, not fuel injected and the line isn't rated for the increased pressure with a fuel injection engine and wants to replace it for $70.

Any truth to it?

Thanks

Zach

Go to advanced auto parts and have them ring up another fuel line, doe's it match? Sounds like your mechanics trying to screw you out of $70....Which you deserve.
