Default Can I tune my mustang at a shop?

There are some shops here in Tucson that do tunes, but I want to know if I have to take my own tuner or do they use their own? maybe I could save some cash by not buying by own and using theirs, is that possible for my 08 mustang?

Thanks.

You would have to buy the tuner I believe. If I understand it correctly once the tune on a tuner is used on a car that tuner is locked for that car only and will stay locked until the tune is returned to the tuner.

I think it depends on their software.

I know that Sniper tuning has a shop package called "Delta Force" which comes with an unlimited amount of templates and car slots. So, if your shop had this package, I believe they could make and upload the tune to your car without you having to buy any additional software. However, if you ever wanted to make a change, they would need to make another tune and upload it for you.

^ Yea, it's possible but not practical for a lot of people.

I've always wondered how the costs compare though. How much does a "tune shop" charge for uploading a tune to your car?
