Question about a Ticking noise
SO Mustang lovers I am wondering if anyone call help with this one. My 06 stang GT is making a ticking/clicking noise. It seems to only be when I turn the AC on. And If it is on It repeats the noise approx every 16 seconds. A buddy of mine told me it is a compressor. Maybe a faulty one, or defective. Or should it make this noise. Do all stangs make this noise. It is heard easily, its not in my head. It is most definitely there. I am just wondering if its normal. So far it doesn't appear to make a preformance difference. ALthough I do also notice a bit of over all power decrease when the Ac is on. but again it is a drain off the battery so not to out of the norm. Please folks your comments are wanted and appriciated!

Is it possible you are referring to the A/C compressor turning off and on?
Ford uses a fixed orifice tube (FOT) type of A/C system which cycles the compressor to keep operating pressures where it needs to be. The clicking noise is the compressor clutch engaging and then disengaging.
Also, you will notice a slight power loss when the compressor is engaged (as it puts a load on the engine). There should not be an excessive drain from the battery, but you may notice a small voltage change as the clutch uses a small amount of voltage (and current).
