Default Is this Normal?

Hey, I just re-built my motor in my 94GT and threw on heads, cam, and intake while i was at it. Once I got it all together I fired it up and set the idle to about 1000 rpms. The only problem was it kept taking it a while to find idle. Whenever i go to start the car it will fire up, but i have to either keep revving it or hold it at about 2000 rpms for about 2 to 3 minutes before she will sit at idle, and if i dont do that she will just die. I dont think it has anything to do with vacuum leaks either because once she warms up after the 2 to 3 min. of revving she runs fine. I think it may have something to do with my cam, but if anyone knows for sure please let me know. I also installed a new MSD dis. and i was also wondering if i installed all this stuff and am running higher comp.(about 9.5:1) if my timing should still be about 14* or if it needs to be retarded some. Thanks,

Zach

Try to drill a small hole in the throttle body butterfly since that has been known to fix idle problems and hard startup's on cammed stang's.

I think I would try a tune before I started drilling!

Edit: What the hell is wrong with me? You said somthing about a cam so I'm assuming you have a more radical cam. 94-95 computers are total JUNK. They dont respond well at all to even a mild camshaft application. You need a custom chip and tune, that'll fix your problem.
