Heya Everyone;

My girlfriends 96' V6 stang dies everytime I turn on the AC, no matter the setting of the AC it dies. This is a manual car.

Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to go about fixing it?

Try holding the engine RPM's with the accelerator pedal.If this works it's probably the IAC valve.

Are you sure the compresser isnt siezed?It will stall the engine if it is and hold the rpms up will toss the belt off if it is siezed so I wouldnt try that.Most likely thats what it is cause the clutch spins free till you turn it on then the clutch engages and makes it stall

I held it at 3500rpms last night and it stalled. Your probably right that the compressor is siezed. Lucky I work at Pick-N-Pull and can get a new one for about $10 dollars.

Anyone know which cars interchange with it? If not then I have an interchage at work that I can use.

Any other idea's of what it might be? A kinked ac line or a cloged tube or whatnot.
