Default Drive train noise issue

I have a manual 1994 convertable 3.8 v6. Recently ive been noticing a relatively loud clicking/popping noise coming from the rear of the car. It only occurs once when there is a substantial change in the acceleration. If i hit the gas the popping noise occurs that sounds like something is engaging and the same is true when i let off the gas quickly. Basically when the car lurches forward or backward due to acceleration there is a pop. i checked the u joints today and they looked alright, i know there isn't an issue with the clutch components, but im not too familiar with the transmission. Someone suggested synchros, maybe rear differiental. Before i really got my hands dirty trying to diognose the problem i just wanted to know if any of yall have had a similar problem and what is causing the car to make the noise. I appreciate all of your help!

Mine does that only because I twisted off one of my transmission mount bolts with an impact and haven't got back under it to fix it.
