Default why does it take so long....

Sitting here, 6am, excited and agitated at the same time....why does it take so long to build and deliver a car? I'm sure it only takes a couple hours to actually build the car, then maybe a week or so to ship and deliver it. So why then do they say it takes 6-8 weeks? GRRR

A little more about my story i guess...about 8 or 9 months ago, was looking at getting the camaro, or the mustang. Talking to a guy who is into vettes and he talked me into buying a good used vette. So I did...big mistake. Not that the vette is a bad car, not anything wrong with it, in fact, it's a fun car...but when I started looking at the new stang and when I test drove it, I knew i wanted one.

Something I was thinking about last night though. When I got my vette, it didnt really seem to phase me. I mean, yeah, it was cool and all, but for some reason, I cant remember having that "wow" factor. It just didnt reach out and grab me...not like the mustang. Ever since I put this stang on order, I have actually been excited and really looking forward to this car...just that it's going to take so to get it.

So, here's hoping that something happens and they can get the car to me sooner than the 6-8 weeks...stranger things have happened..right?

A lot of people seem to think that Ford just sits around waiting for orders to come in and then they type "Mustang" into a laptop and their robots pick all the right parts...

This is not the case, as cars are built in batches. Ford builds all of their cars on the same assembly lines, so when Ford told you 6-8 months, that means that was the next time they were building Mustangs...

Well worth the wait though!

I love it!

I remember when I got mine...3 week wait...and then just a month later there was a 6-month wait in winter '04-'05!!!

I had a solid 3-6 months of getting looks like I had a lambo or something
