For 12k you might even want to look in the LS1 F-Body type cars (98-02 Camaro/Firebird). Really fast and it doesn't take much to make them wicked.
I Hate to tell you but my 03 4.6 runs great. The only thing I have had to do was replace the TO bearing and I just replaced the whole clutch just to avoid future problems. I would take my 4.6 over a 94/95 5.0 any day of the week.

i've got a 96 cobra, and it'd run your fox to the ground even with all the miles on it.. haha j/k, well maybe. my 4.6 runs REALL well , love the cobra's, my 96 is a beast, but love the 03's bodies, and i have to pay for all my forged, when they come stock bullet proof.

I would LOVE a 2003 Cobra (I agree, best bang for your buck)....but the going rate is about twice what I have to spend!

well you can get a cobra like mine.. but they will have a bit more maintance, mine is a 96 with 165,000miles on it, the only problem i've had in the past two years is the alternator, and she's been road hard and put up wet many of times. i have a little something going on now about it shutting off, but honestly, flawless car, coming stock with 305hp, man if your gunna spend 12k do it right. could always but 12 down on a termi, and have a small loan. but i wouldn't trade my car in for an 03, just to much time and effort put into it to make it what it is now. if i didn't go 03 cobra.. i'd go sn95, my body style why i got it. thats just me.

Sorry man but you can make a 5.0 run for a lot cheaper than a 2v 4.6..I don't even know why you are arguing that. I'm not talking about how well the 2v holds up and what you've had to replace, I'm talking about straight up performance.

No where in this previous statement talks about modding and performance. I wasnt arguing, i was simply stating your wrong because according to your statement that "they dont run well", it is a complete fabrication. Dont make statements about cars you dont own.
