I have a 66 convertible with a 289 I tore the engine apart and the thrust plate was in 3 pieces. It was the thrust plate that was round and idiot proof the way it went on. The only thrust plate I can find anywhere is the style that has the little ear on it with the oil slot in it to get oil to the front of the camshaft. My question is has anyone used this one or swapped to this style of thrust plate. My engine now has a plug in the oil galley hole that the ear and oil slot cover up so I am assuming I need to pull that plug out. I just dont want to install something that is not going to work and harm my engine. Everyone I ask just looks at me like Im an idiot. Please help.
