Default 69 mustang couple

Hey everyone i have a 69 mustang couple with a straight six 200 engine and a manual 3 speed transmission. I am planning on taking a 300 straight six out of a 84 and i was wondering how much work it would be. I was wondering if i would be able to bolt it right up to my transmission and if i would even be able to fit it in the engine compartment.
Thanks daniel

First off welcome!! If your going to all of the work of a transplant, you would be better off upgrading. Maybe a 302 and a 5 speed manual out of a 87-92 Mustang. 6's just arent that collectable, and typically wont bring much money. Not to mention the fun factor will go through the roof if you swap. Gas mileage is so minimal between the two that its not a reason to keep it either. Just my thought. Take it with a grain of salt.
