Default intake and throttle body help

Why the eff is the inside of my throttle body black? it almost looks like dirt, grime, and oil. ive only had this car for about a year. i bought it used and havnt looked inside the throttle body before. But, its horrible. What should i use to clean it? Ill be taking it off but ive heard theres some stuff you cant use to clean them.

Its not abnormal so dont worry. I would however check the pcv valve if its real wet. if u go get some throttle body cleaner at ur local parts store. take a rag rap it around the end of a decent length screwdriver. soak the rag with cleaner and start cleaning. dont forget to open the butterfly valve and get behind there as well. i know the instructions say spray it directly in. however i work on old v-8's alot and its not good for the internals. Also, Gunk makes the best cleaner in my opinion.
