Default Rattling noise :/

ok so my '01 Gt makes a rattling noise....i've noticed only below 2k RPM
i've been reading around and i see that the heat shield is very common...but another possible reason might be low octane levels...i got my car tuned....the guy that did the tune (sniper tune) did his thing and when we took it for a test drive i heard the rattling noise and he said i'd have to use premium fuel...because it has higher octane level and that would make it go away...and it did for some time now its back.... if its the heat shield, do i just get it removed? will that affect my car in any way?

should it be the octane levels.....what do i do? i already use premium gas, and throw in an octane booster every time i get a chance and the noise is still there :/ any input is very much appreciated

Hi,

I would check the heatshield as you said already as well as exhaust hangers. If after using 92 octane and the problem persists, i would take it back to the tune shop, explian to them the problem and see how advance the tming is on the vehicle. It may be pinging but, you said a rattling noise so, im alittle unsure.

Is there a CEL on or anything?
