Default removing dash

I am going to be painting the interior of my car. I want to remove the dash so I can paint it and to install new gauges. Is removing the dash a hard task? I hope its not too much of a hassle. I need the steps needed in removing it. I don't want to screw anything up.

NO. everything "pops" out. the center bezel piece with ac vents is held in by 1 torx screw and so is the gauge trim piece (actually by 2 torx screws) everything is straight-forward and pops out.

Are the torx screws easy to get to. Where are they located? Once I get the torx screws out I should be able to just pull it out?
thanks for the info

While you're at it, if you're going to be pulling the dash out, you may as well get a new heater core as well. It would suck if you pulled the dash, got the car painted, then got a bad heater core. THe dash would have to come out again.

Its not hard to remove, but a just a lot of pieces to pull off/out so it's time consuming.

the 2 tox screws are under side of the top of the gauge area. there is one torx screw behind the cd player which must be pulled out to remove the large center piece. the piece surrounding the shifter just pops out, so do the ones by the window swithes. they do require force though

Im not sure why either????Just because he knew the heater core is under there and blows up every once in a lifetime??And a far as the dash popping off??There is about 60 screws that hold it all along the windshield and down below. Its defiantely a task to take off.Its true what atlantic said about the things he mentioned popping off but there is alot of screw and wires to unplug. Now this might be a dumb question but why would you want to paint a dasc in a stang??What color??
