Default Black Box/Event Data Recorder Downloading & Erasing

I am just wondering if anyone knows how you do that on a Mustang or know of a tool to do that with. I have seen a couple for $2500 or so but I don't have that kind of cash laying around. 01-04 is what I am looking for at the moment. I'm not wanting to do something illegal (it is illegal in some states), but I want to be able to download and reset my black box easily.

For those of you who don't know, the recorders of today record around half an hour of data - not just the 10 seconds or so the NHTSA requires for accident analysis. You would be AMAZED at the data they hold. I don't know how a factory shop can't diagnose a problem with the data in them. If you get in a bad accident you can count on them being pulled. They are regularly used in court cases now.

BTW, I actually want to do some testing to see just what I can grab and how I can use it...

Acceleration, Fuel, G's, etc.
