Default Window Tint ADHESIVE Removal

OK... pursuant to the PSP being assigned to "Mission Regulation Enforcement" (read - REVENUE GENERATION)... let's just say I had to remove the strip of aftermarket tint at the top of my windshield.

The film came off easily enough... but the adhesive on the glass.... an entirely different matter altogether. I've been trying to get it off with Goo Gone EXTREME... but it's hardly touching the stuff.

Any helpful hints would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

yeah paint thinner and a razor blade, if you don't have thinner then windex will work but not as well.

amonia will take the tint glue off or denatured alcohol.

Yes... horrible... I've not yet tended to this mess.... however, that may be fortuitous.... I was fumbling around the local Wally World last night in automotive and came across WINDOW TINT ADHESIVE REMOVER.

A spray bottle filled with 8 fl.oz. of solution.... for $8 (a princely sum for Wal*Mart).

Will hopefully get a chance to use it today.

Stay tuned!

Hope that works for ya. I personally doubt it though. Mineral oil works wonders if it doesn't.

Mineral oil, eh? Interesting. I got a chance to test the "Tint Off" yesterday. Stuff seems to work pretty well actually. By the time I actually managed to procure the single edge razor blade scraper to properly attack the situation, 'twas over 90 degrees so....

Still, seemed to really bite into the stuff well so I'm much encouraged. Now... all I need is the quintessentially precious ingredient.... TIME. Something that might be on Mr. Jagger's side.... not so much mine.
