Why the mustang?

RE: Why the mustang?
I do know the stock rear is complete **** in the F-bodies, **** they put down 300whp with a LS1 and the put a 7.5" rear in it, that's the size the early 80's fox Mustangs used when they put down about 125whp and that is what newer V6'ers use.

One reason to buy a Mustang is because of the aftermarket support. You can buy every single part through many different aftermarket suppliers. This keeps costs down and interest high.Camaros and T/A's have pitiful aftermarket support.Thats one reason why I bought my Mustang.Mustangs also seem to hold their value better than The F-bodies.

I gotta question your line of thinking here. The F-body has a huge aftermarket (although the parts do cost slightly more, but not much). As for holding value, if plan on modding the car mush at all the value drops alot. FWIW go try and find a 01 or 02 LS1 car and compare the price to a similar year Stang.

I noticed the maros cost about the same here as the stangs do (both v8's). also the lt1's and ls1's are fast motors and have been faster stock for stock than GT stangs for quite a while. but all the facts aside stangs are cooler and girls love em so go for the stang and don't race lt/ls1's until you do some modding

RE: Why the mustang?
the 5.0 is a STRONG motor. i had an 88 that had 168,000 miles on it and the ONLY problem i had was the water pump......and a few clutches. and LOTS AND LOTS of tires. but the 5.0 is such an easy motor to work on and it's also really easy to get HP out of relatively inexpensive.

Hey everyone, I've been studying up on the car I'm going to get. Up until now, I've been looking at camaros because of the pure sports car you find. However most of the camaros I was looking at had high miles and looked as if they had been driven more. I've been looking at the mustang, and they have less miles and are less expensive.
So basicly for all you mustang owners, I was wondering what the advantages/disadvantages are to owning a stang rather then some other sports car (mainly the camaro). Does the smaller 5.0 or even 4.6 liter engine compare with the 5.7 found in the camaro? Thanks for all your help. Btw, I'm looking at late 80's to mid 90's stangs.
