Question Ball Joints?

Hey guys new to the tread. Okay here's the scenario. Got to the Tire shop were I purchased my tire's and had them take a look at a tire that had a nail in it then had them rotate all of them. The nail was only in the tread thank god. Mech, came back and said I had a loose ball joint on the driver side. Told me the bill Here's what it looked like:

Ball Joint 89.99
labor 89.00
alignment 70.00

total around 250 plus tax

Is this to insane or what?

I drove to work which is only 5 miles at the most and now it's pulling to the left a little bit, I think the kinda screwed up on the alignment. What say you guys. New to modding, replaced headlight, foglights, taillights and dome light first car that actually has A/C.

You got ripped bud. Steeda steel balljoints are ~100$ for both and can be knocked out by a novice in an afternoon, and if you paid for an alignment, they will probably(should) stand by their work and correct it. Did you tell them it stull pulling?

USMC1775,

Hey Thanks for the information man. Yeah I didn't get them put in yet but the mech, said that they make them up fifty percent, of course it comes with a warranty. So if something goes wrong with it they'll fix it. Don't have the tools to do it or I would if I knew what I was doing. Oh I think they order Moog ball joints. Is their a difference between Moog and Steeda ball joints and if so what are they. Thanks again. Peace

P.S. I went in yesterday to ask them if they could give me a break on doing both of them and they said they would do it for 379. instead of 500 bucks a piece.

Get good ball joints. If you have a cheapo and it fails your car WILL leave the roadway. A totaled car or dying isn't worth saving a few bucks.

I replaced my balljoints with the ones from steeda in about 6 hours. You can rent the tools from most places like advance auto or autozone, and get yourself a Haynes manual. Its really not that hard to do.
