Car hasn't arrived...
Actually, they already know exactly what I want since it's what I ordered. We couldn't find one anywhere. The dealer was trying to locate one at another dealership and have it shipped but there were none exactly how I wanted. I also don't want to blame the dealer too much because they're at the mercy of Ford. Starting Monday I'll be pressuring them much more. It's hard for me to find time to call them because of work though. May get my sister on their ***. She works for an insurance company and calls and argues with people all day long, everyday. It's what she does. Anytime I have an issue, I talk to her and she takes care of it. She gets results.
Sure, the dealer is at the mercy of the factory, but don't limit yourself to getting the specs you want only locally. There has to be more '11 GTs that fit your order somewhere else in the entire country. Press your dealer to look ALL OVER the country for a car of your specs.
And if they refuse or cannot deliver, then throw a bluff and say "You know what? I found a car with the specs I want at ANOTHER dealer! Since you refuse to have that car delivered here, I'll just go there myself!"
Again, do not tell the dealer where you found the car, as it is just a lie, a bluff , to light a fire under their ***. If they challenge you, boldly and sternly tell them that is none of their business since they are not professional enough to have done a thorough search to find it in the first place.
Wow. Do dealers really go about fixing it, because couldn't their insurance cover it in the event that the car is damaged? But yeah, I would still go over it really carefully to make sure nothing fishy went on... You can't order the same specs from a different dealer?
I can if I want to wait again.
The car was built and shipped out. All current records show a delivery date of November 2nd. Dealer has contacted their Ford Rep. Supposedly they're looking for the car. They called the train yard that it would have arrived at and it's not there. My sister called Ford Customer Service today and they said ETA is November 2nd, contact your dealer's manager. My sister ended up speaking with the owner (all previous contact was through the sales manager). As it stands now, finding my car is priority #1, there are 3 people looking for it. From what I understand, one of them is a woman that is fairly high up. They said they hope to know something in the next 24 hours or so. We will see. I won't be holding my breath.

The dealer called today. At 3:30 this afternoon my car was loaded on a train. When it arrives at the train yard the dealer is making it a high priority. From there he said it should take a day or two to come in. We will see.
