Default 2010 dome light staying on

Got in my stang after the gym tonight and the dome light wouldn't go off. all the other factory neons in the vehicle cut off on their timer, but the dome light stayed on. The dome light wouldn't even cut off after the car was shut off completely and the door closed up
I simply unplugged it for now.

Any ideas on how to actually fix it?

Thanks!

Do the '10s have a dimmer switch? Could be all the way up, on the ON position

Mine has one next to the headlight switch and once when I was wiping down the interior I inadvertently bumped it, which turned the dome lights on. I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't go off for the life of me, so I pulled the bulbs. Felt like a massive @ss when I realized. It happens

I don't know about the 2010 setup but in my 08 sometimes I leave the switch on the right (controls dash light output) too far up and it locks the dome lights on.
I'm sorry if this sounds insulting, but I would check that switch first cause I make that mistake sometimes haha.

Otherwise I think maybe a problem with the door ajar sensors? I've heard that was a problem with some older models.. Sorry if this doesn't really help

+1 to alec for admitting, haha. I've made those mistakes too man.

I felt a lot better when all the "I can't get my dome lights off" threads started popping up all over lol We all have our brain farts now and then

I did something similar. I shut my door, but it was still ajar, so the light stayed on and my batt died
