Quick question?
My husband and I have a 1997 Mustang GT that is needing a new motor. We spun a barring in December of 2008 and the vehicle has not been touched since then. We also have to redo the body and paint. Because of having to redo the paint/body, we were looking at putting a crown vic motor in it thinking that route would be cheaper. From my understanding, a 96-97 crown vic long block will bolt right up to our existing unit. We were kind of wanting maybe an 03 crown vic instead. How much difference in fitting will this be? Time isn't really an issue, because we are fixing everything in our spare time. What adjustments would have to be made and how major would they be? I am dying for this car to be running again, and just can't take something going wrong with it due to carelessness or being misinformed. Please help!!
