Default Help with HP...

Ok im new and would like to say hello and thank you for any replies. So ive had a 94 GT since about 98 i got it with 45k on it and have since put another 45k and she is starting to fizzle out. Lately ive noticed it seems to downshift when i set the cruise at 50ish mph "yes its an auto, the wife had to drive it for a few months when i first got it so had to". So im thinking while i try and resolve that maybe i could finally start adding some power to my baby. My ultiamate goal is a sleeper, id love to be able to take a stock vette. So since ive had it the only thing ive really done is add a K&N filter and March Cold Air Intake. So what im wondering is where to go from here? What would be the best place to start, obviously id like to start cheap and get the best bangs for the buck. I've heard pulleys from allot of people, then ive heard that they are a waste of money. I drive 30 miles a day round trip to work so just incase that matters

Thank You

well i would start with headers and new exhaust system. most of the other stuff as i know would be kinda spendy like new Throttle bodys wich are like $200-$500. then there is pullys wich run about $200. new intake manifold runs about $250-$600. just remember one thing u get waht u pay for so pick the right ones if u have any other questions ask.

As an owner of both a 94 GT and an LS1 car, I can tell you that you need absolutly every bolt on plus heads and a cam to beat the C6 Vette.

Long tubes will get you more power over any other header type, however they are also the hardest to install and will reqiure a new h or x pipe. A good starting point for your car is a GT40 or Explorer intake and the headers, that should perk the car up a bit. Also think of adding 4.10 gears and a good clutch.

Ok so ive been on e-bay and looking other places online for Headers Pulleys and should i get a chip? I was always under the impression that you should get this last becuase you need different programming for different parts you get.

You should be fine untill you start into the heads and cam, if you go that far then you will need a tune of some kind.

I think you need it rebuilt for a split-port injection to, or find a 99+ GT and take the motor out, they got 260 at the crank compared to your 215 ish, and your gonna need 4.30 gears if you wanna be able to take a vette,
