Question Thinking about a 07 V6...

I was wondering opinions from you guys. It'll be my first stang and the dealership is letting it go for $12K. Good price? Is it a good buy? It's got 35K miles. Let me know and thanks!

12k is a pretty decent price, especially for an 07. 35K is almost nothing on these cars, as the engine is well engineered and reliable.

If you are looking for power, I would suggest a S197 GT, however, the v6 with minor mods could easily give the older 4.6Ls a run for their money...

Make sure to give the TSB section a good look over before you go out to buy it, as some 07s are known to have the water leak problems. Also keep an eye out for any interior rattles (small annoyances, and easily fixed but you don't want to deal with that on a new car).

Good luck!

Not bad. As stated, these engines are beasts. Reliable, perfected, and not toooo bad in power. 12k isn't a bad price for that. Obviously, look for body damage and other stuff and try to adjust the price if need be. I have an 09 V6 and love it. Minor mods, get a dual exhaust conversion, and CAI, and a tuner. I dynod at 215.

Go for it!

Good luck!

minor mods? dont **** on the kids leg and tell him its raining. just to keep up with a stock gt he is looking at $3k in mods at least. an 11+ v6 is another story.

also, i fail to see how this is "general tech"

Yeah and that 05 will be plagued with TSBs up to your neck. Did anyone ever tell you about first run models?

When did I ever set a budget limit when I stated my first opinion? I agree he will never beat out a 4.6L but never did I say he would, get your facts straight bud. And for the record, I'm pretty sure 4.10s/posi and a good intake/tuner would hold off any GT in the 1/8.

If you really want to play that game though, a 75 shot and a window switch would probably be just enough to hang with a stock GT from what I hear (no personal experience with nitrous). A good setup will run you about 500, plus the cost of a good tune. 300ish?

Did you not notice that he said OLDER 4.6? My '10 V6 with tuner, CAI, and dual exhaust smokes my friend's '96 GT with his minor mods. And back when I only had dual exhaust, I raced a '99-'04 GT and kept up with him, he still beat me but only cuz of the take off.

WOW, you must have some sort of awesome v6! You do realize that the old 4.6 is a two valve right? That's apples to oranges in other words. I know of plenty of mustangs that stomp all over dodge vipers. Whoop de doo. And im pretty sure since the op is looking at an 07, he want the s197 body style. So let's stay on those and forget about your super sixxer beating on sn95s

First of all, I never even said my V6 is fast, I simply stated the fact that it takes on OLDER (<- KEY WORD!) 4.6L with a few minor mods, just like aaquib mentioned on his first post if you still haven't realized that! If your monkey *ss can't recall, aaquib stated that the S197 V6 will give (once again: KEY WORD->)OLDER 4.6L a run for their money with a few minor mods! It's quite obvious your lacking a little something if you can't get that into your head and because of that I won't even waste my time anymore replying to you.

As for the OP, if you want the Mustang, go for it! The V6 isn't the fastest car, but it looks great and it is a lot of fun to drive, especially after a few minor mods! Good luck on your decision!
