Default flexplate runout tolerances

I can't find runout specs for a 157-tooth flexplate. I've got a "bought it myself" brand new MSD gear reduction starter, and the flexplate barely hits the gear on 1 specific spot on the flexplate. I was going to put the shim in to back the gear out that 1/16" however it occurred to me the gear may not be deep enough to engage the teeth on the opposite side of the flexplate. Anybody know where to find the runout specs (stock flexplate)?
