Default Flexplate

I am trying to put back together a 200 engine out of a 65. I had to replace the flexplate and the new one looks identical to the old one except that two of the holes are off about an eighth of an inch. Im new to this so ive never encountered this problem before. Is there a chance that they might have been drilled wrong on the flexplate. If this is so, would I do any damage to the engine or the transmission by drilling out the holes to make up the difference? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Jake

I am assuming you mean the crank bolt holes. Turn the flexplate untill the holes line up, they go on a certain way so the balance pads are in the right place.

You may be trying to put it on backwards. Turn it around and see if everythig lines up.
