Default 2001 mustang gt problem..someone help thanks

I have a 2001 mustang gt automatic, the other day I leave to go to work and got about a mile down the road I stopped at a stop sign as soon I gave it some acceleration it sputterd and shut off and it wouldn't crank back up so I kept.on trying to crank it and it just spun over then on the last time I tried it spun over a few times and sputterd a little bit and it cranked up. Well i drove it back home and drove something else to work and I didn't mess with my car for 2 days and I cranked it up and it acted fine I drove it to work he last couple of days and I replaced the fuel filter last night and the filter almost looked like muddy water was coming out so I drove it to work this morning and it sputtered when I accelerated bit didn't shut off. Thanks

It could be bad gas.

As he said it could be bad gas, or possibly a bad fuel pump. If you have the means check your fuel pressure at the service to make sure it stays steady. Another easy fix is to check your throttle body. The old 4.6s will get gummed up and run terrible if it gets dirty. A little sea foam or carb cleaner and a tooth brush should do the trick

Get rid of that gas & replace it with fresh gas. Then change the filter again.

I wouldn't get gas @ the same place again, EVAH.

If it is the original fuel pump there is a good chance it is giving up. Clogged filters make it very hard for the pump to supply the pressure needed to fire the injectors. If it is the pump it will do it again and then eventually quit. Try the gas first. It is the cheapest. I would drain it all into a jug and have a good look at it. Or you could just pull the new filter and poor it backwards into a glass jar. If there is trash in the new filter then you know what is in your tank.

You may have a bunch of crap in your tank & new filter is plugged. Re-check filter.

If you replace a filter and don't do a system flush then you need to watch the fresh filter. I think there are fuel additives that you can use to break up sediment and gunk in the tank. Either that or take your tank out and have it cleaned, or get a new one.
