2014 GT 1-2 shifting issue
I'm an old guy (50) that just got his first mustang! I've had many manuals, but nothing hi performance. I would say I have average shifting abilities. Not too smooth, but not clunky, either. I have driven my new stang for a month, keeping it under 4500 rpm with no issues whatsoever. I just started to open it up and can't seem to shift from first to second above 5k.
Any advice would be helpful.

I can bring it up to 6 or 7k and shift from 2nd, 3rd, or 4th to the next gear without any problem. However, if I bring it above 5k in 2nd gear, it's like I can't get the shifter to slip into the 2nd gear gate. I have NOT tried to force it, but I have applied a decent amount of pressure to the shifter.
Sorry for the incomplete post above. I'm new and couldn't figure out how to edit the original post.
