Whilst at Home Depot one day, I saw a display for FiberFix Tape. I was going to get fancy and replace my leaky filler neck with stainless tubing, but thought this might be a great temporary fix. I could find no information on the cured resin's solvent resistance, so I wrapped the leaky area in self-fusing silicone tape before laying on the FiberFix. It has been two weeks now with zero evidence of leaks and no fuel smell in the garage. Maybe this is the permanent fix.
Rust pinholes formed under the area covered with split-loom plastic. I should have taken the plastic completely off instead of just rotating the split to the bottom.
