We are restoring a 67 mustang that has a 93 5.0 engine. We are having issues with the 5.0 power steering pump. It is rough turning either direction and will continue turn when you let go of the wheel. Is there a way to decrease pressure or the volume or both on the pump? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks. Lavonna
are you sure you have lines correct? i accidentally had the lines backwards once, and it acted like you described.
besides that though, i have a 92 5.0 engine in my 69 and the 5.0 pump works great.
We actually had them on backwards before and the problem was worse. Even after switching them to correct position, we are still having problems. Sounds like you have the exact same set up. Did you have to do anything differently to the pump such as reducing pressure? Thanks for your help. Lavonna
no, i didn't do anything that would affect the pressure. i just hooked the lines up like normal and that was it. since you have the lines on correctly, i don't know what could be the problem.
